West of England School and College for young people with little or no sight WESC is the leading regional centre for young people with little or no sight, providing specialist services delivered by experienced professionals who work collaboratively to provide education, health, care, therapy and mobility to ensure that learners receive the highest quality services.

Many young people attending the West of England School and College have severe and complex needs as well as visual impairment. Their aim is to develop their independence so that they can develop academically and socially, to enable them to thrive and achieve in a supportive environment.

Stroke Association

The Stroke Association is a national UK charity solely concerned with combating stroke in people of all ages. It funds research into prevention, treatment and better methods of rehabilitation, and helps stroke patients and their families directly through its community services. These include dysphasia support, family support, information services and welfare grants. We also campaign, educate and inform to increase knowledge of stroke at all levels of society and we act as a voice for everyone affected by stroke.

Visibility has been working with blind and partially sighted people for 150 years and provides a range of services and opportunities for people who have experienced sight loss. Visibility is the new name for Glasgow & West of Scotland Society for the Blind. Visibility's Sealladh project is for ex-service men and women who have acquired a brain injury, which may have been caused by Road traffic accident, Fall, Poisoning, Viral infection, Stroke, Brain surgery or Brain tumour. The Institute for the Blind and Partially Sighted, IBOS, is a national rehabilitation institute for young people and adults with vision impairment. IBOS is situated in Hellerup north of Copenhagen. The Institute offers its expertise and experience through the whole process of unravelling the needs to actual counselling, teaching and education. The Institute also offers consultancy, continued education and tailor-made courses to professionals working with vision impairment.

IBOS is the first facility in Scandinavia to train professional staff with the NVT System to meet the needs of people with Brain Injury and related Neurological Vision Deficits.

As the leading regional centre for young people with little or no sight, we pride ourselves on our specialist provision delivered by experienced professionals who work collaboratively to provide education, health, care, therapy and mobility to ensure that learners receive the highest quality services and provision.

Set in 14 acres just outside Exeter and close to the M5, our facilities include a 25 metre heated indoor pool plus hydrotherapy pool, which has hoists for easy access, sports hall and gym, a sensory room fitted with the latest technology including Sound Beam, a state of the art radio station where guests can become DJ's for the day.
